Auctioneer Data Analysis - Does Machinio Traffic Convert to Bids?

AllSurplus.com and GovDeals.com are two auctioneer clients of Machinio who list assets across multiple industrial categories. Machinio crawls listings automatically and directs click-through traffic to auction pages, allowing buyers to register and place bids. Comprehensive reporting about the views and clicks that originate on Machinio is provided to Machinio's auctioneer clients.

Allsurplus and Govdeals don’t get any special treatment from Machinio. Their Gold Advertising Memberships, and the performance and benefits included, is the exact same as commercially-available to all clients. Assets from the platforms also span most of Machinio’s main categories- the most bid-on asset categories across both platforms were vehicles, biopharma, industrial machinery, construction, and metalworking.

Allsurplus and Govdeals shared their YTD 2025 auction conversion data so we can analyze how views and clicks on Machinio convert to bids and GMV for the auctions.

We’re happy to report that buyers who find auction assets on Machinio do convert to bidders at very high levels. Among Machinio users who click and view auction listings, 1 in 8 (12.5%) turn into actual bidders. Most importantly, over 50% of Machinio bidders end up placing the winning bid. These high conversion rates amount to real GMV and revenue for Machinio’s auctioneer clients. We can say confidently that Machinio Advertising is a very valuable marketing channel for industrial and equipment auctioneers. Machinio’s users are highly motivated to bid and win.
